We operate under an hourly-based and gratuity-free pricing model to make things simpler and more transparent for our clients and our stylists. The price you see is the price you pay, and neither you nor your stylist has to worry about the pressure and awkwardness of tipping.

At Union, we’re selective about who joins our team. Our stylists are carefully selected not just for their expertise, but for their personalities as well. We insist that all of our clients get a stylist they love to sit with who gives them the personal attention they deserve.
Products you can trust
We only carry a few select brands of hair products at Union. That’s because, after more than two decades of experience, we have strict standards for the products we use on our clients. Every shampoo, conditioner, color and chemical is one we’d use on our own hair.
OUR STORY
Union Hair Studio was born out of a need for a salon that had yet to exist. Owner Kara Pezzimenti wanted a space that combined a high degree of professionalism with a warm, welcoming environment that provides respite from the busy world outside. So, she decided to build it herself.
OUR SALON
Located near downtown Durham, NC across the street from Duke University’s East Campus, Union Hair Studio is a peaceful retreat in middle of it all. Our modern salon is open, inviting and outfitted with the industry’s best products, tools and equipment…not to mention the city’s most dedicated stylists.
OUR STYLISTS
The Union Hair Studio team is second to none. Consistent in their skills and experience but dynamic and varied when it comes to personality and individual flair, our stylists are the heart and soul of everything we do. Each team member brings something a little different to the table, meaning everyone can find a perfect match for their style needs and personality.
